The cost of such a qualified electronic signature is higher, but it is more convenient and secure. - Qualified electronic signature. Only a certified center or its representative can issue an electronic signature on a physical (most often on a flash-drive) medium. It is offered to be issued for a period of 1 (2) years. After that, a renewal is required. To perform online document signing, a special program will need to be installed. For digital verification, you need to connect the carrier to a laptop or PC. Any foreigner can order an electronic signature on a flash drive even without personal presence.
Differences between ePUAP profile (Profil zaufany) and EDS
The ePUAP profile is a government program, while the EDS is a commercial project. Consequently, working with the profile will be less expensive. In addition, it does not require additional software or physical media. It is a cloud-based solution and its use requires only a phone and a stable internet connection. To put an electronic signature, you just need to receive an SMS with a code.
Besides, you can put such a signature in a document of any format: JPEG, PDF, WORD, while a qualified EDS is put only in files with Xades extension.
