правила входа в mObywatel и Profil Zaufany
From January 12, 2026, Poland will completely change the way users access government online services. The Ministry of Digitalization introduces a new electronic identification system that replaces all previous authorization methods.
❗What will stop working:
- login and password access;
- bank login;
- SMS codes;
- old identity verification methods in Profil Zaufany.
Identity verification will now only be possible with an electronic ID — e-dowód. Forgot your password? Not anymore.
How the system changes
- Profil Zaufany will no longer exist as a separate service — all its functions will move to the mObywatel app.
- The app becomes the main tool for accessing all government digital services.
- Notifications about logins, data changes, or suspicious activity will be sent directly to mObywatel — they cannot be disabled as this is part of cybersecurity.
Previously most notifications arrived by email and could be easily missed. Now alerts will appear directly in the app.
Do I need to recreate my account?
No. All existing accounts will be transferred automatically — no forms or additional actions required.
What to check in advance
- Is your electronic ID valid?
- Does it support e-dowód functionality?
- Is the mObywatel app updated?
- Do notifications work correctly on your phone?
Important for foreigners
It is currently unclear how foreigners who cannot use mObywatel will access the new system. The Ministry of Digitalization is preparing official clarifications.
Purpose of the changes
The new system aims to improve security, speed up access to government services, and centralize all services in a single tool — the mObywatel app.
